Protests and demonstrations at Taksim Square and around Istanbul Turkey, initially these took place to contest the demolition of Gezi park.  Events then further escalated where protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan of the ruling AK Party after accusations of Police Brutality and encroachment of Turkey's Secularism.
