Reek Sunday is a traditional pilgrimage to the mountain Croagh Patrick in County Mayo Ireland.  It takes place on the last Sunday of every July.  Originally it was a pagan festival that some estimates say took place up to 5000 years ago, in it's present Christian form it has been held continuously for the past 1500 years.   Now Catholic pilgrims many in their bare feet climb to the top of the mountain to receive mass at a chapel on the sumit.  Even in an increasingly secular Ireland, the Reek Sunday pilgrimage continues to grow.
